Wolves Beat is dedicated to all things Wolverhampton - a celebration of the city we love and are proud to be part of. Others may rave about New York or London - or even Birmingham - but we know where the living is best.
This website is the creation of philosopher, poet and part-time intellectual Rufus J Smith, who was born and bred in the city when it was still a town. First seeing the light of a Wolverhampton day in his parents’ log cabin prefab on the East Park estate, Rufus followed in the footsteps of George Orwell by becoming a dishwasher in Paris, rode the rails across America and worked as a lumberjack (failed) in Canada. He now lives in the fabled green paradise of Wightwick and wonders if he will ever finish his novel.
